Please join Jake Bapst and Ivan Tribe on Saturday, July 20 at 2:00 PM as they present a fascinating look at the life of Gallia County native Beryl Halley.
Born in Bladen in 1897, Beryl attended Rio Grande College in 1916.
After teaching in a one-room schoolhouse, she went on to become one of the first women to enlist in the U. S. Navy.
After that, she was Broadway bound and appeared in 3 seasons of the Ziegfeld Follies, in musicals and reviews, and in at least one silent film.
Never before seen memorabilia from Beryl Halley's estate will be on display.
Come out and learn about the "most famous Rio Grande student you never heard of!"
Copies of Beryl Halley: The Life and Follies of a Ziegfeld Beauty, 1897 - 1988 will, hopefully, be available for purchase.
