Opportunity Bus: Visit the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force

Bossard Library is pleased to provide community members with a chance to board the Opportunity Bus for an educational and fun-filled adventure.

The Opportunity Bus will travel to Dayton, Ohio to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force on Saturday, May 2, 2026, so that participants will have the opportunity to explore this unique museum, courtesy of Bossard Library.

Registration Is Required For This Event.

This event is open to those ages 5 through adult (please, no exceptions).

You may only register members of your immediate household (those physically residing at your address) for this event.

Minors (ages 5-17) must be accompanied on this trip by a responsible adult.

If a responsible adult (age 18+) is being designated to accompany a minor child/children in a parent or legal guardian's place, the designee must indicate the child/children's name/names when they are registering.

All participants (including parents/legal guardians of minor participants) will be required to sign a waiver release form.

11:00 AM -- 3:00 PMExplore the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force; Lunch break.
3:25 PM -- 3:45 PMBoard the bus for a return to Gallipolis. Departing at 3:45 PM sharp.
3:45 PM -- 6:00 PMTravel to Bossard Library (receive a special snack for return trip).

Boxed lunches (adult and child) will be provided by the Library and served at the Museum cafe. Contents of boxed lunches to be determined dependent upon cafe offerings at the time of visit. Other than a water bottle (clear, sealed, and up to 20 oz.), no outside food or drink is permitted at the museum. For those not wishing to partake of the boxed lunches, a snack bar is located in the museum offering cold sandwiches, snacks, and drinks. Food purchased at the snack bar can only be eaten at the Museum's designated areas.

Restrooms are located on the bus. The bus does not have a wheelchair lift, but there will be space under the bus to place a wheelchair if needed.

Space is limited for this event and all slots might be filled by the time you have an opportunity to register, however, in this case, we encourage you to register for the waitlist. Registered participants might need to cancel due to illness or an emergency and those on the waitlist will be designated to fill those slots.

When registering, please provide the following information:

  • First and last name of each participant
  • Is each participant ages 5-17 or 18+
  • Contact e-mail
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Number of adult boxed lunches; Number of child boxed lunches
  • Parent/Legal Guardian's name (for minors ages 5-17)
  • If applicable, name of responsible adult accompanying minor children in place of parent/legal guardian

Please note that you will not be officially registered until the Library has called or emailed you to confirm your reservation.
